In Tanzania, visual impairment causes many children to miss out on learning and development. With this impact, we're channelling support organisations who are the cornerstone in Tanzania's fight against preventable blindness, offering free paediatric eye services to children under 5. Their dedicated medical teams work on cases ranging from cataracts and glaucoma to trachoma, changing the lives of thousands each year.
One of the organisations this impact supports is CCBRT, established in 1994. CCBRT is the largest disability hospital in Tanzania, making it a linchpin in the country’s healthcare system. In just 2021, over 6,100 eye surgeries and 68,000 consultations were conducted, empowering children to return to education and break the cycle of disability and poverty. With this impact, we join hands in their noble mission.
